Nail the Mail November box

Here I have three polishes from the monthly nail mail box from Nail the Mail. I love getting nail mail every minute month with new surprises every time. It’s also nice getting polishes that I wouldn’t have ordered myself so I get to step out of my comfort zone.

First up is Appeal4 ‘Midnight Green’, a sheer green jelly that I used four 😳 thin coats of to get totally opaque. That’s at least one too many in my book, but the finished look is very squishy and shiny.
Next is this raspberry glittery red from piCture pOlish; ‘scarlett ‘. It’s slightly holographic but very subtle. The formula is outstanding as always with piCture pOlish. Two coats and top coat.

Lastly is a no name from Sorbet Seams, a new brand for me. This is a glitter in a sheer base and I’ve layered it over black and by itself so you can see the difference.

I really enjoyed this months box, they were so different from each other but still awesome. My favourite must be Scarlett though. 💕

Oh the woes of a nail art addict

I had a gradient prepared as base for my nail art and then real life entered and I had to go to the bathroom. Oh nooo, you all know how that ends. Ruined! Frustrating to spend all this time and then you just wreck it.

Well, I managed to get a pic while taking a shameless selfie for the hashtag #facebehindthenails
Since I want to see my peeps on IG I put myself out there and tagged some people. So here it is, a picture of me and my nails. If I look old it’s because I am.

The elusive white

Do you have any good white undies to recommend? I love to use white as a base, accents, for detailing and everything in between BUT the ones I have used turn goopy almost straight away. When you use a polish often and expose it to air I know it looses some of it’s consistency, and you might have to revive it with nail polish thinner. But seriously, my Essie Blanc was goopy almost from the start and I’ve had to complement it with thinner from the get go. It looks pretty enough when the process is done and I have globbed it onto the nail, because I’m getting better at clean up and I have good top coat which evens it out. But is it supposed to behave like a blob of slime?

I have also used up a bottle of OPI ‘Alpine Snow’ which was slightly better from the start, but it too got impossible to work with after half of the bottle was gone. So I would really appreciate if you have any tips to share or brands that are better just regarding the white color.

Here are some pictures of the progress but I don’t think they show how awfully goopy and uneven it applies. This is Essie ‘Blanc’.

I have to add that I absolutely love both OPI and Essie almost all the time, just not these.
